You know, in conversations with people you are just getting to know, you often discover more about them. Well, most times, I discover things about myself that I never paid close attention to. One of which is that I don’t have favourites. Yes, like favourite colour, food, song, human, anything at all🤷♀️.
I don’t know if that is weird, but I think it’s even weirder to change favourites as often as the sun rises, or having to stick to one drink or colour and bore myself to death because of the oath of allegiance I unconsciously took when I considered them as favourite.
I’m not saying that I don’t have things that I really love, that would readily top the chart when making choices, or that I’ve never considered having favourites. What I’m saying is that life is in phases, and so I find myself liking different things in every new phase, rendering everything I once considered favourite invalid.
And so, out of the exhaustion of always having to update the list and the risk of being considered a confused person, I just resorted to not having any favourites. So now I have the liberty to consider Schweppes Chapman the best thing in the history of drinks, and tomorrow give that same title to Mountain Dew without fear of judgments.
So, while some may find it odd, I've come to enjoy the freedom of not having favourites. It keeps life interesting and allows me to explore options without limitation. Who knows, maybe tomorrow I'll discover a new favourite oat recipe for breakfast, and that's perfectly alright. After all, life is too short to limit ourselves to just one favourite.
Pardon my manners, I didn’t ask how you are doing. Hope you are doing well body, mind and soul.
